Volunteers in Stockton are taking donations for fire victims in Lake, Amador and Calaveras counties.
People have been dropping off everything from bottled water to diapers at the fairgrounds in Stockton. The donations will be given to evacuation centers not served by Red Cross.
Carol Noceti and her family, who also produced this year's Asparagus Festival, organized the donation effort. Noceti say she and the volunteers are just doing what they can.
"Horrible isn't it?" she says. "So sad to see this, if we can help just a little bit that's what our goal is and we have an amazing group of people coming out here."
Donations will also be accepted on Saturday at the fairgrounds in Stockton.
The Butte Fire has burned 71,660 acres and is at 37 percent containment.
