At 3:58 p.m. Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing heavy rain over the Wragg Fire burn scar. Flash flooding and debris flows are expected to begin shortly. The debris flows can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
Precautionary/preparedness actions:
Move to higher ground immediately. Act quickly to protect your life.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Move away from recently burned areas. Life threatening flooding of creeks, roads and normally dry areas is likely. The heavy rains will likely trigger rockslides, as well as mudslides and debris flows in steep terrain, especially in and around these areas.
