The Sacramento County Probation department is trying to help women preparing to enter the workforce. Today about 75 women who have completed required drug treatment programs were offered free hairstyling, make-up sessions and business clothes. In between the primping the women received help with their resumes.
Terrie Barraza hopes to finish her probation next spring. She says she’d like to get a professional job.
"I want to be able to help others," she says. "I want to go out there and be able to work comfortably and just get my life back on track."
Barraza says she took advantage of the conference's free legal advice and information on housing, education and health.
