The "Pink Bus" was unveiled today in downtown Stockton to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Many in the crowd at the San Joaquin Regional Transit District downtown bus terminal are survivors, or have family members affected by breast cancer.
RTD General Manager Donna DeMartino introduced the bus as it rolled into view.
"And now the moment you've all been waiting for, we are pleased to present RTD's Breast Cancer Awareness Bus, the bus is pink, applause."
For cancer survivor Mary Ann King the bus carries an important message on the side, it reads, "The best protection is early detection."
"It brings tears to my eyes, when you are a survivor, it is something that can happen to anyone, and you need to be screened."
RTD General Manager DeMartino says the "Pink Bus" will be on the street not just for October but the for the entire year.
