An initiative that would require porn actors in California to wear condoms can appear on next year’s ballot.
The Secretary of State’s office confirmed that the AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s measure gained more than 400,000 petition signatures. That’s enough to qualify for the ballot through an expedited process.
The initiative is modeled after a similar measure passed by Los Angeles County in 2012. In addition to the condom requirement, it requires porn producers to receive state health licenses and pay for vaccinations and testing for performers.
