The Sacramento County District Attorney says her office will start posting online the names and criminal histories of some offenders released early from prison.
District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert said in a statement that some of the released prisoners still pose a danger to residents, even though their latest offenses aren't violent.
She says 72 such inmates from Sacramento County have been granted early prison releases as of November 13th.
Schubert's office has been fine with some of the early releases, but others concern them. According to the state corrections department, federal court decisions left it no choice but to release more people from prisons.
State corrections information says sex offenders and prisoners serving time for violent offenses aren't eligible for early release.
