Sacramento County Public Health and American River College completed tuberculosis skin tests for 48 students and staff at the college main campus and the Natomas Center satellite campus.
The testing was conducted due to the diagnosis of a student with active TB in mid-November.
Five people tested positive for exposure to TB. The health department says they'll be further evaluated and offered preventative treatment.
No active cases of TB were identified.
The county's public health officer says the results show there is no evidence of transmission.
The county health department says students who have a positive skin test but do not display symptoms will not be excluded from school, because they are not infectious.
A second round of testing will be conducted in eight to 10 weeks for those who tested negative. This is a required step because in some people, it may take that long for the body to develop a response to the test.
