The California Highway Patrol says the driver of a stolen SUV attempted to run down two of their officers Thursday morning in Sacramento.
The officers spotted the SUV in the parking lot of the of a motel off Madison Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. One officer fired a single shot at the driver who drove away.
The suspect abandoned the SUV two blocks away and was caught in a trailer park a short time later. Neither the suspect nor the officers were injured. The officer who fired the shot is on paid administrative leave.
The SUV had been reported stolen Tuesday.
