An employee of the Yolo County Sheriff's Office has been arrested for allegedly possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on the property of the Yolo County jail, officials announced Wednesday.
Authorities say they received a tip that Ricardo Navarro, a 24-year-old detention facility cook, was possibly smuggling contraband into the jail.
On Dec. 29, a search warrant was conducted in the 100 block of Muir Street in Woodland.
Navarro was later taken into custody. He's been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation.
He was also booked into the Yolo County Jail on the charge of bringing a controlled substance into the facility.
