(AP) - Rooftop solar company Sunrun is joining some of its competitors is laying off hundreds of Nevada employees in the wake of rate changes.
Sunrun announced Thursday that it is stopping sales and installation of solar panels in Nevada because of the decision by the Public Utilities Commission to increase NV Energy bills for rooftop solar customers.
Competitor SolarCity announced Wednesday that it is also halting sales in the state.
A Sunrun spokesman could not provide an exact number of employees laid off, but estimated that hundreds would be impacted.
