(AP) - Unemployment rates are ticking down in Nevada's three main metropolitan areas.
The state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reported Tuesday that Las Vegas' jobless rate inched down a tenth of a percentage point to 6.2 percent in December.
The rate dropped to 5.5 percent in the Reno area, down from 5.7 percent a month earlier.
It also ticked down to 6.7 percent in Carson City in December, a drop from 6.8 percent in November.
Regional unemployment rates are not seasonally adjusted.
The news comes a week after the agency reported that Nevada's overall jobless rate fell to 6.4 percent. That rate is seasonally adjusted.
State economist Bill Anderson said the growing payrolls show businesses have confidence in Nevada's economy.
