(AP) - City officials in South Lake Tahoe are going to discuss clarifying a months-old vacation rental ordinance.
The Tahoe Daily Tribune reports a city subcommittee will discuss options for enforcing the number of guests allowed per rental, parking rules and whether land coverage limits impact the number of vacation rental permits.
Those possible options will be presented to council members for consideration.
Since the law went into effect in October, almost two dozen citations have been issued to illegal vacation rental operators. City clerk Amanda Nolan said during a presentation Tuesday that there have been 41 citations for other violations, including noise, parking and trash.
The rules require property owners to meet certain standards to rent their homes short-term, like agreeing to pave driveways by June 1.
