(AP) - Apple has asked a federal magistrate to vacate her order that it help the FBI hack into a locked iPhone.
The company said in a court filing Thursday that the FBI is seeking "dangerous power" through the courts.
The filing represents Apple's first official response since the judge ordered Apple last week to provide specialized software as part of an investigation into the San Bernardino shootings.
Apple is warning that if it's forced to help the government hack into an iPhone that was used by one of the shooters, it will open the door to many similar situations. And the company says that could have "disastrous" consequences for digital privacy.
