(AP) - The University of Nevada, Reno is aiming to add 400 faculty members by 2020.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the goal is a student-faculty ratio of 18 to 1.
President Marc Johnson says the university's record enrollment of nearly 21,000 students this year is generating resources that will fund 300 of those new academic faculty positions.
University officials will discuss asking the Legislature to fund 100 faculty jobs in March in a meeting with the Nevada System of Higher Education, which governs state public colleges.
