(AP) — An advocacy group is alleging that a top aide to Gov. Jerry Brown signed an agreement pledging not to take any actions to harm her former employer, Pacific Gas & Electric Corporation, when she left to work for the California governor.
Consumer Watchdog said Monday that it wants the Fair Political Practices Commission to investigate whether executive secretary Nancy McFadden had a conflict of interest because she still held stock in PG&E.
Its complaint says McFadden also received a $1 million payout from PG&E in 2011.
Brown spokesman Evan Westrup told the Los Angeles Times the complaint has no merit. He says McFadden had no role in any regulatory decisions while holding the stock.
McFadden reported owning between $100,000 and $1 million in PG&E stock in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
