7:20 a.m. Two crashes have shut down major freeways in the Sacramento region Thursday morning.
All lanes on westbound Interstate 80 just west of Douglas Boulevard were shut down in Auburn after a pedestrian was hit and killed. According to the California Highway Patrol, there was a report of a man walking in the slow lane at about 5:34 a.m., trying to cross the freeway. As of 7 a.m., at least one lane reopened at Eureka Road in the Roseville area. Other lanes remain closed.
In Woodland, a crash caused a Sig Alert on southbound Interstate 5 just south of CR102. As of 7:25 a.m., a closure is still in place. This crash occurred at 5:26 a.m. and involved two big rigs.
