Democrats Add More Nevada Voters Than GOP In March

(AP) — The Democratic Party added about four times as many new Nevada voters in March as the Republican Party, thanks to caucus day registrations.

The Nevada Secretary of State's Office reported Friday that Democratic registration grew by about 16,000 voters in March and is up to 502,000. That's about 40 percent of the state's active voter base.

Republican rolls grew by about 4,000 voters and are up to 442,000. They account for about 35 percent of Nevada's 1.3 million active voters.

The number of nonpartisan voters held steady at 233,000 in March and makes up about 19 percent of the state's voter base.

Voters could register as Democrats on the same day as the party's Feb. 20 caucus. The Secretary of State included many of those registrations in the March count.
