The U.S. Marshals Service is seeking information leading to the location of an accused rapist who might be in California.
A press release says Michael Hawkins is wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in a wheelchair on June 10, 2012 in Schenectady, New York.
He was also charged for first-degree rape on Nov. 8, 2013 when a wife of a friend invited Hawkins over for a family gathering in Rotterdam, New York.
His whereabouts are unknown but he has personal ties to New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Oregon, California and Florida.
KCRA reports that he might be in the greater Sacramento region.
He is 5-foot-9 weighing approximately 160 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a scar on his face and a burn mark scar on his right arm. The federal news release says Hawkins' friends say he is known for his temper and alcohol abuse.
He is nicknamed "Zombie Mike" for his poor hygiene.
The U.S. Marshals Service is offering $5,000 for any information leading to his arrest.
