Earth Day At Sierra College - Sierra College Rocklin Campus
Thursday April 21, 2016 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Sierra College in Rocklin will be hosting its own series of outdoor Earth Day events. Thursday you can enjoy the Sierra College Wind Ensemble followed by a performance by Izzy Tooinsky, a juggler and motivational humorist. Then at 2 p.m. you can join Biology professor Jim Wilson and others for a Nature Trail Guided Walk.
Earth Day Celebration - Sacramento Children’s Museum
Friday Aprill 22, 2016, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
This annual Earth Day celebration is hosted by Assemblyman Ken Cooley and the Sacramento Children's Museum. The outdoor event will take place in the parking lot next to the museum. You can expect live music and interactive, Earth-friendly activities.
Rocklin's EarthFEST - Johnson-Springview Park
Saturday April 23, 2016, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
You can join the Rocklin community and search for treasures at a community garage sale that includes vintage and handmade goods. There will also be entertainment and demonstrations throughout the event, in addition to various activities.
Earth Day Festival - Yosemite National Park
Saturday April 23, 2016, 10 a.m. - 10 p.m
This year’s festival honors the centennial of the National Park Service. Park admission and all festival activities are free. Living history demonstrations, activities, games and interpretive walks will take place on a stage in front of the Valley Visitor Center.
There will be a later event starting at 8:30 p.m. where the first 25 people to sign up can join a “Full Moon Photography” hike. Professional photographers will demonstrate how to take photos during the late evening hours in Yosemite Valley. There will also be a “Camp Fire Desesrt: S’mores’ and Beyond” event from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the campfire ring in front of the Yosemite Valley Museum.
Sacramento Earth Day - Southside Park
Sunday April 24, 2016, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
This free all-ages event is hosted yearly by the Environmental Council of Sacramento, or ECOS. There will be live music, entertainers, healthy cuisine, activities and a children’s area. There will also be information booths, goods and services for a healthier and more sustainable way of living.
Stockton Earth Day Festival - Victory Park
Sunday April 24, 2016, 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
This event begins with a yoga session for everyone, regardless of experience. You're only asked to bring your own yoga mat or towel and water. Following the yoga session, the entertainment program starts at 11 a.m. with a performance by Taiko Drummers followed by the Brubeck Institute Jazz Quartet and other performers.
