Sacramento International Airport is experiencing increased wait time at security checkpoints because of personnel shortages at the Transportation Security Administration.
Airport officials say passenger traffic has increased, but TSA staffing levels have not.
Heading into the summer travel season, travelers are advised to arrive at two hours ahead of their departure times for domestic flights. Especially flights leaving during the hours of 5 to 7 a.m., noon to 2 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
Security screening checkpoints open at 4 a.m. for flights leaving at 5 and 5:30 a.m.
