UPDATE: An 18-year-old student from a Sacramento vocational school as shot at least twice about a block from campus during lunchtime Thursday.
Witnesses have told the Sacramento Police the victim had left the McDonalds on Fruitridge and Power Inn and was walking toward the SAVA Charter School when he was shot.
Sacramento Police Sergeant Bryce Heinlein says investigators have taped off the business complex that contains the school and three other buildings.
"The victim actually went back to the vocational school. Just making sure there's no evidence that may have been discarded in the area."
Officers have not identified a motive for the shooting. Witnesses say the shots were fired at about one o'clock by someone in a dark sedan.
The victim is in critical-but-stable condition.
UPDATE: Sacramento Police report the victim was an 18-year-old student at the nearby vocational school. He was walking across the street from the McDonalds when he was shot by someone driving by in a dark sedan.
He was shot multiple times and managed to get back to school afterwards. He is in critical but stable condition.
Police are seeking witnesses.
The intersection of Power Inn and Fruitridge is closed due to a shooting at a bus stop. Police are investigating the scene and have reported an adult-white male has been shot.
The Sacramento Academic and Vocational Academy is nearby but is not on lockdown.
