(AP) - Authorities say one guard was stabbed and another has a broken wrist after an inmate attacked them at a Northern California prison.
They say 36-year-old Maurice Miles punched a correctional officer before 10 a.m. Tuesday at California State Prison-Sacramento.
They say he stabbed a second officer in the arm and shoulder with an inmate-made weapon. He head-butted a third officer, and a fourth suffered a broken wrist.
All four were taken to hospitals for treatment.
Officials say there is no apparent link to an attack at the same prison on Monday. One inmate was repeatedly stabbed and a guard shot a second inmate to break up the assault.
Both remain hospitalized in fair condition.
The prison holds nearly 2,400 inmates in Folsom, about 20 miles northeast of Sacramento.
