The Sacramento Kings say they have met or exceeded their goals for local employment and job training during construction of the new downtown arena.
Kings President Chris Granger made a presentation to the Sacramento City Council Tuesday night.
"Seventy-four percent of all of dollars spent are going to local contractors," Granger said. "Nearly 20 percent of all of the work is going to local small contractors. Seventy-one percent of all the hours worked are going to local Sacramento-area workers.”
Granger says the project has also trained about 110 apprentices.
The arena is on schedule and concrete is being poured this week for the third floor of the hotel next to the arena.
