Authorities confirmed Sunday that the bodies of a missing father and his 1-year-old daughter have been recovered.
Authorities say Kyler Johnson, 23, and his daughter Kaylee were reported missing out of Antioch on May 23 by family members. They were reportedly driving to Sacramento County.
On May 28, Sacramento County deputies received a call about a body located in the Georgiana Slough in South Sacramento County. Authorities determined that the person is Kyler.
Just after noon on May 29, a boater reported discovering a small body in the slough just north of Tyler Island Bridge. Authorities confirmed that the victim is Kaylee.
On Sunday night, authorities announced that the vehicle the father and daughter were last seen in has been located near the confluence of the Sacramento River and Georgiana Slough, under 18 feet of water
Authorities were in the process of recovering the vehicle from the water.
