The fourth of July was a busy day for Sacramento firefighters.
The Sacramento Fire Department responded Monday to a two-alarm fire on the levee near West El Camino and a grass fire at East Nichols.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire says fireworks in a bucket on a garbage can caused $40,000 dollars in damage. The agency also responded to a grass fire at Don Julio and Antelope and a fire on Stutz Court.
Both fires were caused by illegal fireworks, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department. The department also responded to a duplex fire on De Soto that caused $100,000 dollars in damage. The cause of that fire is under investigation.
