This week the former Pyramid brewery building in downtown Sacramento, at 11th and K streets, began leasing 21 new upscale apartments.
Developers recently renovated the site - known as The M.A.Y. Building - into apartments with retail and event space.
Sonya Sorich with the Sacramento Business Journal says the first tenant for the ground-floor retail space was also announced this week: Oblivion Comics and Coffee.
"Oblivion will not be filling the former Pyramid space," says Sorich. "Instead it's filling an adjacent space that an art gallery previously occupied. So that means that there's still more than 8,000 square feet to fill in that retail area. Ideally the goal is to find a single user for that space."
Oblivion hopes to open before the end of the year. Meanwhile, apartment rents start at more than $1,800.
Sorich has also news about an Australian company opening two stores at the Roseville Galleria...and more Sacramento movie theaters planning to serve alcoholic beverages.
