550-Acre Fire Closes Roads In Butte County

UPDATE 5:00 p.m.: Calfire is reporting forward movement of the fire has been stopped. 

#99 IC states 550 acres, forward progress stopped.

Fire crews are responding to a quickly growing wildfire in Butte County. The blaze, dubbed the 99 Fire, is encroaching on Neal Road, South of Chico. Over the course of the afternoon the blaze charred around 500 acres and is growing.
