San Francisco Gang Leader, "Shrimp Boy," Gets Life In Prison

(AP) - 12:40 p.m. A judge has sentenced a San Francisco Chinatown gang leader known as "Shrimp Boy" to life in prison for killing a rival.

Raymond Chow was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Court Judge Charles Breyer.

His prosecution was part of a major organized crime investigation in San Francisco's Chinatown that also brought down a state senator.

Prosecutors say Chow killed a rival in 2006 and took over a Chinese fraternal group that had members that engaged in drug trafficking, money laundering and the sale of stolen cigarettes and some top-shelf liquor.

12:20 a.m. A one-time gang tough nicknamed "Shrimp Boy" who insisted he had changed his ways but was hounded by federal investigators is set to be sentenced to life in prison, following his conviction on racketeering, murder and scores of other charges.

U.S. District Court Judge Charles Breyer is scheduled to sentence Raymond Chow on Thursday. Chow's prosecution was part of a major organized crime investigation in San Francisco's Chinatown that also brought down a state senator.
