Crews gained some ground on the Clayton Fire Tuesday with containment growing to 20 percent.
The 4,000-acre fire is burning in Lake County and has charred 4,000 acres.
Officials arrested Damin Anthony Pashilk, 40, on 17 counts of arson. He is suspected of starting numerous fires in the area in the past year, including the Clayton Fire.
More than 175 structures have been destroyed in the fire.
