CAL FIRE and other agencies continue battling multiple wildfires burning across California, including the Pilot Fire, Soberanes Fire and Mineral Fire.
As a final update on the Pilot Fire, CAL FIRE says it is now 8,110 acres and 100 percent contained. Almost 500 firefighters are still assigned to this San Bernardino National Forest fire and some areas and roads remain closed.
The Soberanes Fire in Monterey County is 60 percent contained and is at 76,017 acres. CAL FIRE says an illegal campfire caused the fire that destroyed over 60 structures including 57 homes. Highway 1 reopened Tuesday morning but some evacuation orders remain in effect.
Fresno County’s Mineral Fire has burned 7,050 acres and is now 95 percent contained, says CAL FIRE. No structures are threatened, however, the fire destroyed two buildings including one residence building. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
