(AP) - A group of crabbers in Northern California kicked off Dungeness crab season at a cold and foggy Pacific Pier.

reports large waves Saturday morning made catching any crabs difficult.
Jason Ludwig says that after four hours he hadn't caught any crabs and had only seen two taken by other people.
California Department of Fish and Wildlife has declared Nov. 5 the beginning of Dungeness crab season. Commercial crabbing season is expected to open Nov. 15.
Last year, the Dungeness crab season was delayed for months by elevated levels of domoic acid, meaning local crab stayed off many Thanksgiving tables.
Domoic acid levels have lowered to acceptable health levels, though the California Department of Health has issued a warning against eating the internal organs of crab caught north of Point Reyes.
