(AP) - A fuel tanker crash caused a major highway across Central California to close for more than 14 hours, snarling traffic through some of Modesto's business thoroughfares for miles.
The California Highway Patrol says the double tanker truck rolled over at an exit ramp of State Route 99 around 2:45 a.m. Saturday.
The Modesto Bee
reports the rig overturned and spilled about 8,000 gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel onto the roadway and median.
The truck driver suffered minor injuries.
Traffic was diverted off the highway and onto city streets during the closure.
