In Manteca, a chemical spill has prompted the closure of Lincoln Elementary School and Manteca High School Thursday morning.
Manteca school district officials are telling students to stay home. The spill happened Wednesday night in a warehouse building owned by a trucking company on Bessemer Avenue.
Work crews are expected to finish cleaning up the spill Thursday morning.
The Manteca Police Department says there are no evacuations of homes and that the area affected is primarily industrial.
