Stockton police and firefighters used a fire truck Thursday to deliver eight thousand pounds of turkeys to the Stockton Emergency Food Bank for Christmas dinners.
This is the 21st year for the annual Turkey Brigade, which along with Food 4 Less has donated more than 10,000 turkeys over two decades.
Firefighter Mario Gardea says the need is great.
"Our firefighters are out in the public every day and they respond to calls and they see what the needs of the City of Stockton is, so it’s really easy to be part of this because we see first-hand what goes on in our community."
The Food Bank is expecting 1,500 families for the Christmas dinner giveaway next week.
