This annual event is put together to bring people of all different backgrounds together for one march honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. The march starts at Sacramento City College and arrives to the Convention Center, where there will be a Diversity Expo.
Reclaim MLK: This Was Not The Dream, Sacramento, January 16, 9:30 a.m.
Black Lives Matter Sacramento, SURJ Sacramento and HELLA (Health Economics Life Liberty For All) puts together an alternative event that calls for the elimination of racism, white supremacy, capitalism, patriarchy, heteronormativity, homelessness, poverty and fascism.
23rd Annual MLK Celebration, Davis, January 16, 10:30 a.m.
This year's theme is, “Justice Everywhere: Speaking Up For JUSTICE in a Climate of Intolerance.” There will be presentations and music throughout the event. The keynote speaker is Garth Lewis, the Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services for the Yolo County Office of Education.
Annual MLK Day Harvest, Sacramento, January 16, 1 p.m.
Join different food accessibility groups in this annual event to bring together the community. This event is scheduled to happen following the annual March For The Dream. Volunteers will glean fruits that will later be distributed to neighborhood residents, volunteers and local families in need. There will also be a vegetarian dinner served to the volunteers.
