Update 5:47 p.m.: Officers have cleared a house and no additional suspects have been located in the officer-involved shooting on Del Paso Boulevard.
However, the investigation is ongoing.
Update 4:00 p.m.: Investigators are looking into an officer-involved shooting on Del Paso Boulevard Friday afternoon.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, officers were trying to apprehend an "armed/dangerous" parolee-at-large, who is wanted in connection to a shooting from early February.
Officials say when officers approached, the suspect fired multiple times at officers. Officers returned fire. The suspect was hit but is in stable condition at an area hospital. All officers are unharmed.
The surrounding area is still on lockdown.
Original: The Sacramento Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting on Del Paso Boulevard Friday afternoon.
The shooting was first reported after 2 p.m. in the 2900 block of Del Paso Boulevard.
Officials say the area was locked down and a SWAT team was at the scene to evaluate the situation.
Hagginwood Elementary on Del Paso Boulevard is also on lockdown due to police activity, according to Twin Rivers Police Department. Students can be picked up through the Palo Verde and Marysville entrance to the school.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
No further details have been released.
