As state water officials monitor the Oroville Dam and the Feather River, forecasters are keeping an eye on three storm systems due to arrive later this week.
The National Weather Service says the first system on Wednesday evening into Thursday morning should be the wettest. Jason Clapp is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sacramento.
"Later this week into early next week, the total's four to six inches of liquid equivalent precipitation," says Clapp. "But as we get into Friday, Saturday, and later in the week, a lot of that, especially above 4,500 feet to 5,000 feet -- a lot of that's going to be snow.
Clapp says that once snow levels come down, the storms will not add as much water into the Feather River basin behind the Oroville Dam.
