UPDATE 6:40 p.m.: The intersection of Truxel and West El Camino Avenues in Sacramento's Natomas neighborhood has reopened after a police chase and crash led to its closure Wednesday afternoon.
Sacramento Police say five were taken to the hospital -- one with serious injuries -- after a suspected burglar ran a red light and crashed into a van.

The chase reportedly started after police spotted a suspected burglar. It ended when the suspect car ran a red light and slammed into a van. Five people were taken to the hospital, one with serious injuries.
Police say evidence from a burglary committed earlier Wednesday was found inside the suspect car. The intersection is expected to remain closed until around six tonight.
