(AP) - California Gov. Jerry Brown likened President Donald Trump to a strongman whose goal of walling off the U.S.-Mexico border conjures other infamous barriers from the past.
Brown said during an interview broadcast Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press" that the president's promised border wall is "ominous" and reminiscent of the Berlin Wall.
The governor told host Chuck Todd that although California would fight "very hard" against the wall, people should not expect a series of knee-jerk lawsuits. He said the state will be strategic in fighting the president's agenda.
Brown disputed Trump's suggestion that immigration was a threat, casting it instead as an asset.
