Sacramento Sheriff's Department Search For At-Risk Missing Woman

Police are searching for a woman that was reported missing after leaving her residence in the northern area of Sacramento County.

Janet Mejia, 28, was reported missing by her roommate Tuesday night. She was last seen around 9 a.m. earlier that day.

Sacramento County's Sheriff's Department says it found Mejia's vehicle Wednesday in the Arden-Arcade area. Police say her disappearance is unusual because she is usually in contact with her family.

Mejia is described as a Hispanic woman with long, black hair and brown eyes at 5 feet tall around 120-125 pounds. The Pepperwood Knoll Lane resident was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt from PINK.
