(AP) - Firefighters are battling a wildfire burning in the western San Joaquin Valley near Coalinga.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection says the fire has burned more than 3 square miles (7.77 square kilometers) and is 75 percent contained Friday morning.
The blaze began Thursday and winds spread it through grasses in the hills of Fresno County.
About 40 structures were initially at risk but Cal Fire says the threat has ended.
