(AP) - Authorities say they have identified several of the dozens of young people who briefly commandeered a Northern California commuter train, robbing and assaulting passengers over the weekend.
A spokeswoman with Bay Area Rapid Transit said detectives are preparing arrest warrants for some of the suspects captured on surveillance cameras jumping turnstiles and robbing passengers of cell phones and other items aboard a train stopped at the station at the Oakland Coliseum. No arrests have been made and BART declined to release names of the suspects it identified.
BART officials say six of nine cameras on the train and in the station captured images of the incident Saturday night. Investigators believe most of the suspects are juveniles and have declined to publicly release the surveillance video.
