Gerber Road remains closed by the Wilbur Way intersection as Sacramento Municipal Utility District Crews repair damages from a car crash earlier Wednesday morning.
California Highway Patrol and Sacramento County Sheriff's Department officials responded to a car crashing into a pole at around 3 a.m. Around 18,000 SMUD customers lost power due to the crash.
Power was restored at about 5 a.m.
CHP officials said it received a call from SMUD at 5:30 a.m. that crews would work on repairs for another one to two hours.
