A teacher at Sheldon High School is under arrest on sex charges involving a student.
The Sacramento Sheriff’s Department was alerted in March about a possible inappropriate relationship between 53-year-old teacher John Young and a 17-year-old female student. The allegations were that the inappropriate conduct occurred over the past year.
After an investigation, Young was arrested on May 2, 2017, at his residence on a felony warrant for oral copulation with a person under the age of 18. He was immediately put on administrative leave by the Elk Grove Unified School District. Young is being held on $18,000 bail. He’s scheduled to be arraigned in Sacramento Superior Court on May 4, 2017.
