Three Sacramento County schools have been closed after students and adults were sickened by the norovirus. Thirty-three students, five teachers and some parents came down with the intestinal illness.
The Elverta Joint Elementary School District, after consulting with the Sacramento County Health Department, decided to close Elverta Elementary, Alpha Middle School, and Alpha Charter School for deep cleanings. The schools are scheduled to reopen on Monday.
