A two-year-old boy was shot Sunday on a street in Stockton.
The young victim was caught in a wild hail of bullets.
A mother left her two-year-old son just outside the liquor store at Park and California streets as she went inside.
A minute later shots rang out and she rushed outside to find the toddler wounded.
Stockton Police Officer Joe Silva says police were quick to respond.
“When officers arrived, they located a two-year-old boy who was with his mother and it appeared that the boy had some type of gunshot wound to his head area and was transported to a U.C. Davis hospital,” says Silva.
According to Silva, the wound was not life threatening.
He adds that down the street earlier a crowd had gathered, from which gunfire erupted that also hit several cars.
