It will remain illegal for bicyclists to roll through stop signs, after another bill stalled in the California Legislature this week.
For 35 years, Idaho has allowed bicyclists to slow down, but not halt, at stop signs. A Democratic and a Republican Assemblyman authored a bill to allow the “Idaho stop” in California.
But the authors pulled the bill before its first committee vote Monday. Lawmakers on the committee expressed concern about the safety of the measure.
