California Governor Jerry Brown did not mince words in reaction to President Trump’s decision to withdraw the US from the Paris Climate Agreement.
Brown says the President has chosen the wrong course for the country and that he’s wrong on the facts. He says America’s economy– and California’s- is boosted by following the Paris agreement.
"California will resist, because his effort is misguided I would even say this is an insane move by this President, the world depends on a sustainable future, he’s going the other way, it’s going to affect people’s health, the stability of countries, our entire future," Brown says.
Almost every country in the world, including China, has joined the agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Governor Brown travels to China Friday where he’ll speak about climate, clean energy and strengthening economic ties with the nation.
Brown also announced Thursdaythat he and two other state governors, New York's Governor Andrew Cuomo and Washington's Jay Inslee, will be forming a U.S. Climate Alliance.
