The California Community College System is using an online video to remind Dream Act students they're eligible for financial aid.
"Dreamers" are students who have been in California for at least three years and graduated from a California High School.
California Community College Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley says with the current political climate fewer "Dreamers" are applying for financial aid, even grants targeting them.
"Once they're on college campuses they can also access other schoarships and aid that are local to the campus, but this aid program is statewide and available specifically to students that qualify as Dream Act students," says Oakley.
Those students aren't eligible for federal financial aid.
Oakley also wants to ensure "Dreamers" that community colleges won't share their personal information with federal authorities.
