The TSA is asking passengers to take more items out of their baggage at some airport security checkpoints.
Some people who have gone through Sacramento Airport security recently say they have had to take food and books out of their bags.
Dottie O'Brien from Malibu flew into Sacramento for her grandson's graduation.
She says she hasn't gone back through Sacramento's security yet, but she noticed a more electronics, including iPads, had to be taken out at the Burbank airport.
"The things that you used to be able to just leave in your purse, they have to all be separate in the bins when they go through," says O'Brian.
The TSA says its pilot program requires passengers to take more electronics and everyday items, like books and food, out of their bags in an effort to de-clutter baggage.
Sacramento and Burbank are not among the 10 pilot locations, but a spokeswoman says all airports have unpredictable security measures.
No new items have been banned from carry-ons, just more items are being individually screening.
